Abstract

Digital transformation (DT) is a fundamentally new phenomenon in the development of modern society, the prospects and risks of which have been insufficiently studied. For an adequate assessment of this phenomenon, it is necessary to consider it in inseparable unity with the changes taking place in the most important spheres of social functioning (economics, politics, science, culture, education). Phygitalization is the process of interaction of digital technologies with physical processes, creating a synergy between online and offline experiences. The term “phygital” was coined in 2007 to describe the connections between the physical and digital worlds . Since then, a number of authors have paid attention to the disclosure of the theoretical foundations and managerial possibilities of applying phygitality.
